Lads why would you want to dictate to a family how they should respond to a tragedy. The two daughters in their 30s obviously made the decision.  Maybe stay out of someone else’s business and leave the judgment to yourself.

We bury the dead so quick in this country, in these tragic circumstances the poor daughters probably wouldn’t have even had time to consider this. A brutal call to make lads.

The people who knew them both the family and their daughters  have made the call and I don’t think people who know f**k all about the case other than what is reported in the media are in a position to judge. As McG says a horrible call to have to make while the investigation has just begun really.

Fair points. I wasn't aware the family make the call, I thought it was the church.

But how is it even allowed as an option? Surely, as alluded to, some breathing room, even a few days, would've been of benefit.

In general a family can decide to delay a funeral if they like also.  But obviously you have to pay for embalming and storage if you leave it a while.   The culture in Ireland as McG says is to have funerals very quickly after the death.   You get in touch with the church and funeral home not the other way around.

Can see why they'd want it done quickly as well. Horrific situation, hopefully they find a way through it.

Yeah each to their own, we've no idea what the relationship between them was or the health of the father.

The Vanishing Triangle 6 part drama series on Virgin isn’t bad. Very loosely based on those disappearances. Made by the same US crowd that made Kin.
