A lot of the "cost" of running NI is their share of the British army bill, that would be gone from the cost of NI too

And pensions.

Senator Mark Daly was given the task of providing a feasibility study into the cost of NI and his estimation is 700m pa.

Those who want a United Ireland, how far would you be willing to go to make sure all felt inclusive.

Would you change the national anthem?
Change the flag?

What else would you do?

Before someone comes back and says our flag already recognises all parts of the Ireland, maybe it does but people very well know that some people up north would still be uncomfortable with it.

The anthem and flag would have to change. I don’t think that would be an issue. It would be a new country.

Poor troll baiting trying to get a bite from Jinky because of the other thread I'd say.
How are we supposed to viably incorporate NI into our economy?
This.

Plus both sides up there are horrible ****s.

In fairness, it does look like the economics of reunification could work. I would vote for it anyway.
I'd even swap singing "Grace" for "Simply the Best" at home games.

Would have no problem changing the anthem, would prefer to keep the flag but understand it’s contentious

The sad thing is the current flag actually makes the most sense. Its symbolism is probably what will end up consigning it to history upon unification.

Same as Cyprus but they must change their flag too for any unification.
