You sure you got your figures right on the full tank mileage or are you relying on the range calculator/guessometer?

Had one of these as a rental recently and it was very pleasant to drive. Always found sitting in the back of them dark with the small tinted windows.

Is a 2nd hand Diesel car worth buying this year?

Would you be suspicious of low mileage (averaging 6,000 a year)?

No,
I don't drive my diesel car a lot. But I do have to bring it out on the motor way to clear the DPF light. It's such a pain the arse.

The 200e tax is a real bonus though, was paying close to 800e on my petrol car.

Is there any reason to be suspicious of it?

2010 car with 82,00 miles on the clock.  Also noticed the chrome around the cigarette lighter is slightly corroded.  I wonder if there is moisture in the car or maybe its normal as it may heat up and cool down during the night and rust over time

You can spend €5 to have a decent vehicle history, even the NCT certs these days should give the mileage on the last few tests.
If it’s too good to be true yeah walk away, but a 2010 with 140k kms certainly doesn’t enter that bracket in my mind without seeing it.

Not sure how the DPF annoys you. We both have the same model Octavia VRS and while I’m on the motorway every day (albeit only a short spin) if that wasn’t enough for a regen the car will look after itself after I’ve turned the ignition off. If it bothers you that much get a DPF delete.

It's not enough for a regen, if you keep driving with that light on you'll need to replace the DPF and that'll cost 3k plus.

During the lockdown last year when I very rarely drove it, I brought it out on the m50 one night (Ballymun exit and back does it) and got a puncture just before the exit, the wheel had seized, so drove home and then looked at it in the morning, still couldn't it take it off, then brought it to QuickFit and they needed a sledgehammer to get the wheel off but the walls of the tire had collapsed so ended up paying 120e for a new tire.

No, but you would need to driving it for a good 15 to 20 mins to clear the DPF.

It's not a car to be nipping down to the shops and back etc...
