If buying a second hand car, what would be deemed as high mileage lads? 2016 Passat with 140k miles for example.

I assume that's a diesel. That's highish. It's not a taxi anyway!

Yeah that’s very high for 5yr old car. Stay away from anything 100k miles plus, it’ll depreciate far quicker over your period of ownership than a car say with 70k miles

Why?

Are you doing the miles to justify it?

I’ll be buying another large estate car, there either is no equivalent or it’s a 1.4tsi Passat for example which wouldn’t achieve anywhere near the same mpg.
After the next diesel it’ll be a hybrid I’d say.

It's nuts how much prices have gone up everything. Part down to brexit, people saving over covid & having more cash to spend but also down to supply. Have to remember back towards the end of the boom we were registering more than 120k new cars in Dublin alone per year, down to 88k for the entire country in 2020. Lack of supply is seriously driving prices up.

Bought a Passat. It's a jap import. Manuals all in japanese. Thankfully the garage converted sat nav and communications to english etc.

But there are a number of features on this yolk and im not sure what they do LOL

Anybody got one? Mate of mine had a highline and this is a comfortline but because it is a japanese car it has a higher spec than an Irish car so he isnt much use.

On the wing mirrors for instance, there is an orange light on the side closer to the car that go on every now and then. I cant figure out what the fock LOL Is it telling me a car is approaching on the left and/or right or what? They have nothing to do with the indicators.

I've tried to google the above but to no avail.
