You would get a pint for €4:50 in local areas, why bother going into town to that dump for the same prices

Was in the one on Abbey St before the cup final last November. Thought the place was a sh*thole. The taps weren’t working either so could only get bottles of beer. Worst pub I’ve been in, in Ireland.

Have been in a few in England and they’re not as bad as that Kip. My uncles local was a Spoons in Wimbledon and it was quite nice.
Surprised unionist Tim went to Dublin in the first place
ConfusedConfused

I think he means Brexit supporting Tim who's the owner of Wetherspoons
Oh right. I thought he was having a pop at me.

LOLLOLLOL

Unionist Tim does have a good ring to it though LOL
It would damage this forums' reputation

Only in 2 here, one in Abbey St a horrible soul less place, the one in Cork a fair bit nicer but still average. Tolerable for a limited time for the cheap drink although the alcohol content in beers differs...Carlsberg is usually 4.2%, in Spoons its 3.8%.

Soulless kips but tbh the cheap drink would be welcome here now.  Focking 7.80 for a Carlsberg in The Palace Bar the other day.
6.50 in G-Way is even a rip off for a bit of water, yeast and sugar.

No takers for 4 Wetherspoons Pubs including in Cork and Waterford at €10m price tag. Linen Weaver still up for sale despite 'Spoons announcing big jump in profits. One of Cork's busiest and most prominent pubs - the Wetherspoons-owned Linen Weaver - remains on the market

Double Maxim without doubt the greatest drink in the world

Yes.  They never actually opened here but owned the premises and had applied for planning permission etc.   I was dead against them coming but then when the pubs started ripping off people post covid so was for it in the end but now they've had it away.
