Eir launched a TV service recently to compete with Virgin.
Their Internet is awful so needed some reason for people to move. They want these Eir Sport games to not be on Virgin, hoping people would move to Eir TV to see them. REckon they asked Virgin for an increase, knowing Virgin would pull out. Lot of unhappy Rugby/GAA/etc fans on Virgin, and now some PL games that people won't be able to see. Also, am I right in saying the Setanta games are the Saturday Night Football and the Midweek Football

I agree with with Super Dave's summary above, Virgin just being money grabbing cheapstakes again..no wonder Hornet can fly to games in a private jet

On a side note I'm moving house and no longer need the UPC so I called up to cancel, you know that scene in Friends were Chandler wants to quit the gym exactly like that, about 20 minutes on the phone saying I don't need anymore eventually had to tell them I was moving to Venezuela

Eamonn Dunphy:"I'll tell you who wrote it, Rod Liddle, he's the guy who ran away and left his wife for a young one".
Bill O'Herlihy: Ah ye can't be saying that now Eamonn |

Another reason enticing me to leave Virgin. Their customer service is the worst part of their business, the operators read answers from a guide in Manilla, completely clueless whatsoever.
Will look into the Eir subscription, is the BT package free with Eir? I've read it is free but people quoting on radio it is 7€ on top of the subscription.

I recorded a few football documentaries last summer on the history channel onto the Horizon box. A few months ago I got rid of the history channel amongst others such as Film 4 +1 , TCM etc... Anyway I went to watch the documentaries that I had recorded and says I am no longer subscribed to the History channel and won't allow me to view them. WTF? I recorded them when I was subscribed and assumed they would be permanently on the box. Has this happened to anyone else? |
