Eriksen linked with Barca in the papers today. Looks like the move to a big club could be on

Would say it's only a matter of time before he goes to either Barca or Real. Ifirc he is a Barcelona fan and spoke before when he was at Ajax about how it would be his dream to play for them. If he has a decent WC can see it being at 60-80m fee |

I'm not sure he is at that level....yet. They have the pick of Europe - Would Eriksen be at the very top? Given current fees it would be more like 100M

Wembley is having an impact on Spurs league season, as many predicted at the start. As I said last week as well, Dele Alli isn't having the same impact this season, he's actually been quite poor in a lot of games.

Good man Baggio! Moron!
I did hear that he's a Barca fan. Talk that they'll go for him over Coutiniho. Would reckon the fee might be closer to the 100m mark

Come on Eriksen is one the best creative midfielders in the Premier League. Name someone who is at that level which would be available for roughly same price. |

Sounds like its a done deal then. Kingofkings heard he's a Barca fan, and read in the paper on a Monday in November that they are linked with him

Take Messi out of the current Barca side and it's a pretty ordinary squad, Suarez and Iniesta are getiing on Rakitic and Paulinhia have their uses but you wouldn't be classing them as the creative players. Eriksen or Countinhio would slot in very well there

inevitable the like of alli, kane and erikson will move on to big clubs. spurs cant compete with the money thrown about now. The players will look at the likes of walker who got his move and looks likely to win a premier league medal(something they will never win at spurs) plus he is probably on more cash per week than anyone at spurs.

Would agree with that Paul,
Have a feeling that all the players mentioned and a few more will all leave in the next year or so. Also think that Poch will be the man to take over from Mourinho and get the well deserved opportunity to manage a big club

For one thing, most are still relatively young, so can still learn under Poch at Spurs. Also, the really big clubs tend to go for players who are at/near their peak (26/27/28). Plus the fact that for all their recent difficulties, Spurs are still making progress as a team and as a club - see eg their CL exploits, plus the move back to WHL next season. But most importantly, all bar Alderweireld are on long contracts. Which means that they will leave on Levy's terms i.e. either because the money is too good to refuse, and/or because they have replacements* lined up. Which in turn suggests Poch will stay another while, too. Remember, he was sacked by Espanol, where he was long a firm favourite, at the first dip in form under his management. Therefore I'm sure he appreciates the long-term stability at Spurs which is allowing him to develop his own management skills. Sure, MU are a "bigger" club than Spurs, but thanks to the behind-the-scenes politics and instability etc. they're not really in any better shape, all things considered. Which explains why even highly seasoned managers like Van Gaal and Mourinho struggle to keep on top of things. Meanwhile, Poch knows he's got the gig at Spurs for the next 5, even 10 years if he wants, during which he can continue to build up the kind of "dynasty" Ferguson/Wenger established at MU/Arsenal. Tbh, it's hard to see any other English or Continental club of Spurs' size or bigger offering their manager that sort of continuity, so if/when Poch does leave, whatever new job he takes needs to be right in just about every respect. * - I say replacements (plural), since Walker didn't go to City until both Trippier was ready AND Aurier was signed up. I expect it will be the same for Rose - he will go for big money now that Davies is ready, but still not until Spurs have another LB on the books - Sessegnon or Shaw perhaps? |
