And a bit:

Son Heung-min: Tottenham & South Korea forward a doubt for World Cup

Tottenham Hotspur forward Son Heung-min needs surgery to stabilise a fracture around his left eye and his involvement in the World Cup is in doubt.

"Following surgery, Son will commence rehabilitation with our medical staff and we shall update supporters further in due course," said a Spurs statement.

South Korea's first game in the World Cup is against Uruguay on 24 November.

Tottenham have not said when Son will have surgery and have not put a timescale on how long the forward will be out for.

Manchester City playmaker Kevin de Bruyne broke his nose and eye socket in the 2021 Champions League final but played for Belgium in the delayed 2020 European Championship 19 days later.

To be quite honest, such as been his poor form, it may not be the worst for him to have a few weeks off and come back fresh on Boxing Day.

YD should have been on much earlier. Comment by Clinton Morrison on Radio 5 live : “ All Royal does is talk the whole game. He needs to do his job better instead of talking and wanting to argue with every player who is coming off the pitch or being substituted on.”

I'll be rooting for them this season as the (cough) underdogs. Think they will be close enough till March.
It would damage this forums' reputation

Spurs supplied the venue (obv), but it may have been the Promoters who were responsible for those other things you mention?

Although Spurs have expertise in staging other sports events (RL and RU so far this season, with NFL to come), it would make sense not to stray outside that area of expertise, but instead just take the rent and let the music guys get on with it.

Richarlison is a good signing and gives good cover up top.

Perisic seasoned performer and has wprked under Conte before.

Bissouma is one of the best midfielders in the premiership.

Also looks like they will bring in Lenglet from Barcelona and maybe one or two more during the window.

They should be in good shape to have a go at the top 3.
All feel very Spursy signings, buying players at or beyond their peak, not a great way to build a team IMO.

Richarlison is 25.

Bissouma is 25

Langlet is 27.

Spence is 21

Kululevski is 22

Bentacour is 25.

Romero signed last summer is 24.

So sorry Shedite you are talking Shedite.

Not only is he talking sh(ed)ite about Spurs' current signings, but he's got it wrong about Levy's previous big money signings i.e. all players in their early-to-mid 20s, who could play for Spurs for a few seasons and then be sold at peak value.

To take the previous two seasons' signings:
Gil (20, Royal (22), Pape Sarr (18), Clarke (19), Ndombele (22), Sessegnon (19) and Lo Celso (24).

The real difference this season is (a ) theyre prepared to pay serious money, and (b ) regardless of age, they're players that Conte and Paratici genuinely want, including eg Perisic (33) and Foster (34)

Oh, and Langlet (27) is a one season loan.

Big difference for spurs alright, few years ago they set some record for the biggest profit. I'm not convinced that this mid-tier price is the type of player they need to get top 3/4. Smells of Lamela, lo Celso, Hojberg, Doherty level players.

Are we sure Bissouma is better than Hojberg? Both play ell at mid-table clubs. Richarlison has been streaky at Watford and Everton where he nearly got relegated both with.

If I'm spalshign 150m or whatever, I'd much prefer Liverpools tactic of getting 2 superstars rather than 5 mid-table players

Nice adding last years signings there to move the goalpost, my comment is on this years signings, where the ages are 25, 25, 27 and 33 (Perisic). I'll even exclude the 34 year old goalkeeper. All those players are unlikely to be worth more in 3 years time, so yeah, buying at the high of their value IMO

IF they get Spence that would bring the age down.
