Token squad place. Micks mate Donal Conway trying to get in the good books. Seen him twice live this season. Looking to box with Trevor Clarke first time,  second game nagged Ethan Boyle all night. Shows you the mess we’re in if this lad is even worthy of a discussion.

The horn for Byrne campaign.

If he was from Kerry he wouldn't even have his own thread.

If you can't see the bias then I would have concern.

Richie Towell (Prime Richie now) before his move to England was a far superior player to what Byrne is now.  The clamour wasn't half as bad.

I don't care what anyone says. If he was this good he wouldn't be playing with Rovers. If he is this good he will go back to England. This lad has had attempts at various different levels and done f**k all yet lads still think he is the 2nd coming of Liam Brady.

Change his birth location and there wouldn't be a word said. Far better players in the LOI.

Didn't he end up with Rovers because Kilmarnock wouldn't play him though?

He fell out with the manager.

I’m not his biggest fan, but to say there’s far better players in the league is a big stretch.

Worthy of a call up and deserves a chance against Bulgaria. I've seen him a few times this season and he's been good each time. I thought he'd an excellent first half on Friday night. He didn't do much in the second half but nobody did for Rovers.

He's the best player in the league. He won't be at Rovers for much longer. Somebody abroad will pick him up.

FYI - they did and it didn't work out.

You're right, I forgot. Once you return to LOI from the UK you're not allowed to go back.

I'll entertain your point. Tell me a time when a player who went to England and had multiple clubs came home, then went back to England and carved out a career at a half decent level.

Throw in the fact he loves the sauce, falls out with managers and has a reported attitude problem then I'm sure that narrows his chances.

Now I've heard the hype about this lad for a long long time. I've seen him go from Man City to Oldham and lads always have an excuse.

I was told when he comes to the LOI he will rediscover his form and go back over. We will see.

Once you f**k up (as a young man) in life, you rightly should be beaten with that stick til death. Redemption is for movies. Everyone's future should be defined by their past failings. Don't try in life. I don't even know why we have an under 21's.

Friday night was the first time I saw Byrne for the full 90 mins and I was completely underwhelmed by him. Great ball for the goal but beyond that nothing.
One City,One County,One Club GUFC will be back.

Lads I’ve seen very little of Byrne but there must be a reason he has had so many clubs at a young age.
Talent mustn’t be lacking it’s obviously something else if all these clubs are unwilling to hang on to him.
