If Krul remains at Newcastle and his attitude is right, he'll almost certainly be no.1 next year. Elliot is a good keeper but there was a time not so long ago when Krul was one of the best performing goalkeepers in the EPL.

Bailed the sinking ship thinking he was too good for the Championship then has flopped in the Dutch league. Newcastle will be worse off keeping him - Didn't want to graft promotion & they have a better keeper anyways. |

umm little bit mackem biased there, Was injured at start of the season so got no pre season, so on that Darlow and Sels were ahead of him on merit of being more fit ,went out on loan to Ajax after they sold Cliessen to Barca on transfer deadline day. He was still working his way back from injury while at Ajax, Onana took over in goal when Diederik Boer also got injured and kept his place , Krul came back to Newcastle again Darlow was ahead of him on merit so he agreed with Rafa to go on loan again this time to AZ has played every game for them since coming in and could well win the Dutch Cup at weekend so don't think he has really flopped. Also taking off my Irish tinted glasses on fair assessment when both 100% fit Krul is the better keeper. |

Biased
Wheres the bias in saying people like him are the reason yis went down? He literally f**ked yis off at the quickest opportunity, similar to the Costa Concordia! 1 year later and these lot still dont have a clue why they went down |

Bit OTT there Coyne, perfectly reasoned, balanced argument from LB with facts to back it up

Coyne you're hilarious Krul was in no way responsible for relegation he was out injured for 9 months of the season. I will agree certain players, Sissoko, Colo for example but certainly not Krul (he was prob reason we didn't get relegated before last year) In terms of he literally f**ked off he left on Transfer Deadline Day in January for AZ as stated above he needed to play to gain his fitness back Darlow was our number 1 at the time and playing well it would have been. He left on August 25th in the summer window again due to not being fit and as I said again above Sels and Darlow ahead of him fitness wise. Another reason we went down was because we had a f**king idiot in charge until March and by time we brought in a decent manager it was already too late. |

I am indeed hilarious but nowhere did I say he was responsible!
I merely said he was the first ones to bail the sinking ship in August! At the end of the day, both people had long-term injuries - 1 person left because he couldn't hack the competition and 1 person stayed and fought for his place back like the professional Rob is. Guess which one most people would prefer to keep!

" people like him are the reason yis went down" <- your quote
Elliot could have gone too, but no one enquired about him as he was still a good year away from returning from injury. Only started training again in December. Krul was aiming to be back around October time, he could also well of stayed yes and fight for his place but they received an offer from Ajax for him and accepted it, he was happy to go along with it. Similar to de Jong he needed to go and get game time to recover from injury which wasn't guaranteed at Newcastle. * Also 11 players left the club before him so hardly the first to leave Edited by lassassinblanc - 25 Apr 2017 at 3:36pm |

I'd be suprised if Elliot starts next year as number 1 for the toon. Personally think both Randolph and Westwood are better keepers

He was class before his injury - got Newcastle player of the season that year - in the PL. If he gets back to that form, there is no reason he can't be the starting no.1 for them, and one of the better GKs in the PL.
