Yes he doesn't tell him and he miraculously shows up at the correct venue at the right time. Slater just drives by the Trotters inconspicuous 3 legged van parked in plain sight of everyone at the Tuckers yard as well

First episode is on Gold.
Del is in his leather jacket tries to sell briefcases to a guy at a stall. The guy refuses to buy. Del is then seen in his overcoat unloading the van with the cases, and goes to a shop that equally refuses to buy. If you rewind, you see that the same shop is actually adjacent to the stall. Even though Del has to pass it by as he walks away from The initial attempt at a sale to the stall owner. It’s a very strange scene.

In The Chain Gang, in my Top 5 episodes, Arnie organises the meeting outside the casino with the lads in the Carpark. He flashes his lights to signal to Del. It’s definitely not Arnie in the car flashing the lights.

 What if Del Boy hadn't come up with the idea of letting Arnie sell the chains to Mr. Stavros? or more realistically What if the lads robbed the chains off Arnie and also the money? He went into a dodgy tower block with complete strangers on his own outnumbered what 6 to 1? Fairly risky con trick to expect 1. Them to be honest and not jump him and 2. They would have to be smart enough to come up with the idea of selling them on to Mr. Stavros. What if they were thick?

I think the issue was Del trusted Arnie and the consortium trusted Del. Aubrey didn’t trust Arnie.
