Hugely talented footballer.  Sadly major issues off the pitch.

He was also eligible to play for us.  I wonder if his life would have been different.

Quick version for those who don't know.  Jack knew Gazza from a young age at Newcastle.  he asked him if he had any Irish blood and would have picked him for our senior squad.  "Not me boss 100% pure Geordie."  On the night of his debut for England U21s (which tied him in those days) Jack bemoaned the lack of Irish heritage to Gazza's parents.  "My mother is Irish" said Gazza's mother.

Its surprising to see it revoked on health grounds as they've said.
They knew all about his past, either induct him to their hall of fame and stick with it, or don't do it at all.

One of Gazzas best performances was in the bar at Dalymount when he was at Middlesbrough during a PSF with bozos, substituted at half-time and into the bar drinking with his mates still wearing his full kit.

Don't know if he said the same about his encounter with Vinny Jones some years ago.
