Air to water???? Looking in the region of 4-6 grand....some grants are available.just a side note on this,it’s not worth getting done unless you house is fully insulated.
Thanks jb, when you say fully insulated what do you mean by that, I think I've fairly good insulation the house does be nice and warm in winter and holds the heat quite well. Are you talking external wrap or just make sure the walls and loft are well done

Yeah the external wrap,double/triple glazed windows, insulated attic and if possible under the floorboards.....a few walls done internally or the attic done wouldn’t be enough for the heat pump.generally you set the system at required degrees....say 22 degrees....and you keep the house at that temperature constantly.if you’ve no good insulation your wasting your time as the heat loss would be massive.it can take a few hours for the system to move up a few degrees if you call for more heat on the stat....so the heat isn’t instant, like in a normal heating system.
Got ya, couple of points I didn't really consider.
Thanks man, much appreciated

It's very slight - you'd hardly notice it.

When I done my own extension last year we primed all the screws with primer before plastering. As in my parents  extension they could be seeing through the wall. Interesting to see will the primer work.

Yeah the circles you see are what was used to pin the insulated plasterboard to the wall. Same is obvious some times in our new build out the back.
hit them with an oil based stain block and paint over

Hit them with a what now?

a sealant. Then paint over again.

Also happened in my extension and panicked like fock. But did the above and sorted.

We paid around 3k. That was with a mate rate
Is your mate dublin based or would he travel outside the big smoke?
Did he apply for the grant for you?

I didnt do any grant so hope we are talking about same thing. I'm talking about a boiler that is connected to heat pump so you get the hot water straight away. I was getting other works done at the time and they suggested to replace the boiler with a heat pump system which added the 3k I mentioned to the build. I'd say any plumber would be able to quote ya
