I think Keogh is more likely to sue Bennett and Lawrence via their insurance, than he is Derby County.

That's the tweet. Can't say it's too scandalous.

Before the crash he had started 316 of their 330 league matches. That is an unbelievable stat. All 10 of their Play-off games too

Car insurance is void if you knowingly get into a car with a drunk driver

Would he have a case if he was so drunk he didn't know his own whereabouts?

Not sure that is the case. More likely that the insurance would be void because the driver was drunk, and therefore the driver wouldn't be covered for personal injury or car repairs, but passengers or other 3rd parties, might still have a case.

Contributory negligence I believe it’s called.

The maximum amount that you can be awarded as compensation for Unfair Dismissal is presently the statutory cap of £86,444, or 52 weeks gross salary- whichever is the lower. This is in addition to the basic award which can be ordered by the Tribunal of up to a maximum of £15,750.

It's not like they have to find a sizeable chunk of change to pay the wages of another over the hill ginger fond of a drink.

Derby not coming out of this with much credit. Very opportunist from them to reduce the wage bill.

Some posters said what he did was gross misconduct, well if it was then the two other boyo's had "worser" misconduct....... which i don't think anyone can deny. In any unfair dismissal case the employer must treat all employees equally.

I would have no issue if the 3 of them were sacked. But this is just opportunist

It's not me it's you:-)
