“It wouldn’t have much of an impact on individual clubs such as West Han,” he told Football Insider‘s Adam Williams. |

The reason I posted it is there's been speculation that clubs would be affected but hopefully the article in accurate and they won't be.

Yarmolenko scores for West Ham and is visibly extremely emotional which is understandable.

Apparently even the Villa fans applauded. Stark contrast to those low-life Chelsea fans, who are still lauding Putin's Bitch.

Sadly a clear display of how tribalism can be. Football can no longer transcend politics, and really has not been able to for years, even if I have been guilty of the view that “politics and football don’t mix.” In fact, there is no sport more political, and ownership will play a major part of that.
It’s up to the fans how they respond.

The interesting thing about squad is that WH have been playing with a wafer thin squad for almost two years, and the results are generally the same. We’re already in mid March and they are still top 6 and now in the last eight for Europe.

Lyon will be a big test. But I see no reason why they won’t progress.

Really feel like this is one of those turning point WH have every few years. We don't win this, Rice will leave, we win this, Rice stays and we get a few quality imports this summer.
Reminds me a lot of Ireland losing Rice after the Denmark playoff game. If we'd won that, Rice would have likely been capped competitively in the WC that followed. |
