Comparing Napoli to Leicester is a bit of a stretch! They have the best players in the league! The Champions League is very open this year with no stand out team! Man City, Bayern, PSG and Madrid have all been average in the league this season.

Some lead by Napoli, 15 points and 24 goals. They can afford to rest players in the league when they've Champions League games.

Interesting commentary for the BBC on the state of Italian football, by Daniele Verri (Italian football journalist) here: On the one hand: "Overall,
there are six Italian clubs in the quarter-finals of the three European
competitions, a quarter of the total; Milan, Napoli and Inter are
joined by Juventus and Roma in the Europa League and Fiorentina in the
Conference League. One
Italian club is guaranteed to play in the Champions League semi-finals,
and it will be two if Inter can eliminate Portuguese opponents for a
second round in succession."
On the other: "Asked about the potential renaissance of Italian football, [national team manager Roberto] Mancini said: 'It hasn't happened, this is club football. Only six or seven Italian players are actually part of Napoli, Milan and Inter's starting XIs. 'Thirty-three players would have been fantastic; 50% of them good, 30% also OK. The thing is, some U19 games in Italy take place without a single Italian player on the pitch.' It is a fact that Italian clubs have a problem with their academies. Where are all the present and future Pirlos, Tottis and Del Pieros?" |

Definitely not looking as good. Lacked discipline last night as well, Osimhen is a big miss for them. Having said that 2nd leg in Naples will be a different story, Milan may regret not getting a 2nd goal in the San Siro.

Milan beat them 4-0 in Napoli a few weeks ago too. But most teams will have a sh*te game or two in the Champions League. I'd still expect them to go through.

A team in each of the 3 European finals, not bad for a supposedly poor league

Some people think ifs the game isn't played in a shiny new stadium or there isn't 40,000+ at every game the league must be poor. If Mourinho wins the Europa league this year it will be some achievment with Roma. Conference League - Europa League which qualifies them for Champions league. Good stuff.

Yea fair play to Mourinho if he does win it!
I watch the game last night and they were absolutely grim to watch, played for a 0-0 and their best attacking player by a distance Dybala didn’t even get off the bench. Roma fans seem to love Mourinho but I was delighted when he left United as the football was brutal.

And Ryan Giggs got 3 goals in the 1999 Treble winning season, stats aren't everything. Grealish outstanding against Real, as he has been all season. I explained on here two months ago why he is now a regular on this City team and what he brings to the team. He's made that position his own. Is Kyle Walker still brutal?

Loved watching Belotti at Torino but that probably was not a good move for him? Will he move on again? Thought he would end his career with Torino.
