Well, seemingly Man City winning a trophy can generate far more commercial revenue than Liverpool or Real Madrid winning the same trophy. Which makes total sense.....

Try 3 in the same season.

Other teams have done similar - Still not generated the same levels of commercial revenue.
There must be something that makes Man City so different but I just can't put my finger on it.....

Silly mentioning Liverpool then, weren't you?
No, not really - Clubs with a higher and more long established worldwide profile than City are all relevant when highlighting this.

If Liverpool signed one of the best and most marketable players in the world, and followed it up by winning the big Treble, then they could be relevant and used as a comparison here.

No, were are taking about commercial revenue here.

Which is why i mentioned the Haaland signing.
Signing a world star = more commercial revenue.

And yet that doesn't seem to be the comparable situation when Real Madrid have done it in the past few years. Funny that....

I suppose the conclusion we can all reach is that City are just f**king massive, and your piss is well and truly boiled.

You'd think a massive team would charge more than League 2's Tranmere Rovers for a season ticket

10 years of forging their accounts and 115 charges where they will be found guilty makes 121 million 'profit ' very impressive?

But sure everyone loves the Bundesliga and has had a hardon for Borussia Dortmund for years due to their affordable ticket prices.
Which is it, is it good or bad to price at a level that working class people can afford?

I've yet to hear or read any reasoned response from a city fan regarding their accounting situation. It's just 100% defend everything to do with them. You'd think even one of them would say "you know what, this might not be 100% legit".

A strange bunch, wasting your time even bringing the subject up with them.

"In February 2023, in response to the charges, the Club issued a public statement that it welcomes the review of this matter by an independent Commission, to impartially consider the comprehensive body of irrefutable evidence that exists in support of its position," the report says......

Why not sit down, go through the irrefutable evidence with the commission and enjoy the success they've had, or maybe they're not telling the truth?

Thats ongoing since shortly after the charges were brought. Will take a few years.

Also, the truth is no football fan knows what goes on financially with their club, not many of them are accountants or experts in that field.

From reading extensively on the charges, the 115 charges is a bit of a myth and it boils down to 3 main charges really, centred on
1) a contract Mancini allegedly had with Al Jazira where he was being paid seperately
2) Image rights payments via a third party - which UEFA know about and weren't bothered, and
3) Some of the sponsorships that were done pre FFP probably by Etisalat. Again this was shown to UEFA in order to meet FFP when it was introduced.

All the rest flow from those three charges, which are split over multiple rules and years.

Yeah you have alright LOL

When you say 115 is a bit of a myth, are you saying there isn't 115 charges?

No there are 115 but they're centred around three main points.
If Mancini's contract was dodgy for year x, it'll also be the case for years y and z multiplying the charges

Do you think there might be even a smidgen of doubt about the legitimacy of citys rise?

Oh there'd be more than smidgen for sure. I'd be surprised if they didn't bend the rules a bit before FFP was introduced. Would be surprised if loads of clubs weren't at it though.

I'd also be surprised if they continued to publish false accounts (as many seem to think today) after being recently charged and an ongoing process was in place dealing with these.

Will await the outcome

Come on RB, you can keep your Champions League, you know you're not a big club until you can charge Irish, Norwegian and Chinese football fans £1200 for a match ticket because it includes meeting a legend like Igor Biscan or Jay Spearing
