Expected result with the longtime corruption within UEFA (which Irish fans know all about!) It will be interesting to see where UEFA go from here regarding FFP or similar policies

What is the name of the competition? The champions knock out? It’s a competition for the ultra rich clubs.

One thing I read a few months ago that I always recall about the CAS hearing was that the punishment was going to be all or nothing, I never believed it was going to be rescinded to a 1 year ban. They were either guilty on UEFA's evidence and the 2 year ban would stand, or they weren't and they'd be exonerated

Yes it’s the Daily Mail and Martin Samuel, but some of the football fans cum legal experts that I’ve heard today could learn a thing or two reading this

Man City are Rangers with dollars. Scummy.
The fact they are celebrating while getting off on a technical, is cringe worthy. Also lost on their fans is they pleaded guilty to this in 2014! When Der Speigel called them out and put it on a platter for Uefa, uefa did what uefa does and fecked it up. CAS did find them guilty of non cooperation, leads to ask why did they duck and dive? Truth is most people won't give a sh*t and its yesterday's news in the morning. They might have got away with it, but everyone knows their guilty as sin. Even city fans. |

They didn’t get off on a technicality. That’s incorrect. The allegations were unfounded.
I wonder why they didn’t co-operate with UEFA. A cartel run organisation urged into taking action on City by the likes of Javier Tebas, David Gill and Rick Parry, with their argument based on out of context emails gained from illegal hacking by a lad now imprisoned. Hmmmmm, do you not think that maybe they thought they mightn’t have had a fair hearing.

No, as ever the devil is in the detail and when the report is published we can see which allegations are unfounded, and which is time related.
They pleaded it in 2014. Der Speigel brought new evidence, which basically f**ked City. Ethihad, mancini contracts etc. Uefa presumably thought given new evidence they statue of limitations didn't matter. Which was wrong on their behalf. Your a little bit paro on this. Just because it's thrown out doesn't mean it didn't happen.

It’s bleeding obvious the owners are trying to get money into City through legit means. They are bending the rules and using their connections to increase sponsorship.
I would bet all the money is real and contracts were signed (maybe some were backdated). What wasn’t provided to UEFA was the emails / conversations behind those contracts and the real motivation behind them. But for me competition is good. Let the rich owners spend money on the stadium and players. It makes it harder to win the league and you don’t have the dominance of one team like Bayern and Juve etc

Another one who was probably gloating in February after the UEFA ruling but now can’t accept an independent court ruling of exoneration.
Yes the detail hasn’t been released yet by CAS, just a short statement so far. You’re the one who seems to think it has been and City have got off on a technicality The Der Spiegel evidence was out of context and illegally obtained City have said in their statement about the case with CAS. One of the few things they’ve said about it. Edited by Roberto Baggio - 14 Jul 2020 at 8:32am |

Illegally obtained evidence, while not being useful in court, is still evidence of wrongdoing. Also the time limitation factors presented by CAS also dismiss other actual evidence.
So while City have been found not guilty, they’ve certainly not been found innocent. I think if you’re going to post non stop on this you need to look at it objectively Baggio

Being serious for a second, it’ll all come out in the wash obviously. Nothing really has been divulged yet, despite a lot of fans on here and on social media seeming to know somehow what happened in the court of appeal.
All I know is City all along were very bullish that they’d not be punished for this, even before it went to CAS. They mentioned a few times about this “irrefutable evidence” that they had Partly explained why they didn’t co operate with UEFA and also why they turned down a “deal” from Ceferin and UEFA in February to meet midway with the punishment. First line of the CAS statement, as it seems some haven't read it:
MANCHESTER CITY FC DID NOT DISGUISE EQUITY FUNDING AS SPONSORSHIP CONTRIBUTIONS BUT DID FAIL TO COOPERATE WITH THE UEFA AUTHORITIES |
