More likely his defence was that two men tried to date-rape his sister, men who later turned out to be Albanian? Anyhow, I'm surprised that he didn't try the old defence that rather than offering a bribe, he was merely asking whether he couldn't just pay a fine instead, with the message getting lost in translation. And the "Don't you know who I am?" routine was just his way of showing that he was good for the money, both for himself and his mates. (OK, it mightn't add up to much, but whatever defence he did try clearly wasn't too clever.)
