I’m no expert but I presume any Gulf state would spend their own actual money once in control of the club.

I’d think you get a mix of people who would be happy to receive the injection of money for the best players and others who would be fully against it and creating FC Liverpool.
I do think the majority of ‘fans’ would basically be on board as long as there was success. Most fans are very short term minded (we see that with the amount of people already turned against the owners and Klopp this year)

The Gulf countries wouldn't give a f**k about the local fans and they would more likely be the ones protesting...It's the ones that fly over for matches and buy the jerseys in other countries, promoting the brand that they care about. More money to be made from them. They won't give a hoot who owns the club as long as they are doing well. For the owners the stadium will be filled regardless
Correct me if I'm wrong but don't see many protesting at OT this season and less if the yellow and green scarfs as they are doing well. Don't watch a massive amount of EPL anymore so apologies if I'm wrong

Think the difference would be in how the Glazers took it over and saddled it with debt. You'll get fans who'll protest if it's a gulf state who tries to buy but not on the level that was seen towards the Glazers. Club would be out of debt and whichever gulf state it is could just let the revenue from the club generates run the playing side and use their money to improve off the field facilities which need upgrading. Qatari group also showing interest in investing at Spurs, and Saudi Arabia said during the WC they'd have interest in both United and Liverpool. Would not shock me to see the Saudis get involved at more than Newcastle. |

There have been loads of Glazer protests this season but you're right, owners don't care and they don't achieve much sadly.

Leaving aside ‘net spend’ etc, would it be much different if Man U had, had Abramovich/Man City style ownership? When you think about the players bought, the free transfer deals, the high value loans, the succession of managers, it’s hard to see How much different it would be in terms of first team investment?

Fans apathy is always results based. Hardly a murmur about the glazers since UTD hit a streak. Over at Liverpool it’s all the Fenway groups fault. So wins means sheep.

You must not have seen too many Utd games recently. The scarves are still there, there is chanting at every game

Because the Glazers are publically trying to sell . Did you not hear about that? Why would the fans be currently protesting against an ownership who have confirmed they are leaving, thereby doing what every fan always wanted?

So you’re telling me if UTD we’re getting beat every week there would be no protests? Because there’s an intention to sell🤔. Anyway it was a general point. Kroenke’s out. Not a word of that at the emirates this season.

Those signs were from when Hicks and Gillet were in charge.

He is - and FSG are. But those banners were solely directed at Hicks and Gillet as FSG weren't on the scene at that stage. |

Well firstly there are regular chants, clearly the fans made a point of chanting when they score. So there are forms of protest even in victory. The ownership circumstances at United are massively different to Liverpool/Arsenal as United were bought through a leveraged buyout which has led to hundreds of millions being siphoned out of the club to pay a debt that should never have been allowed to exist in the first place. Which is why United have consistently protested the ownership, win/lose/draw. The objection to FSG is completely deluded and laughable, by a bunch of impatient bedwetters who are throwing their toys out of the pram because they can't regularly compete with a cheating gulf state. If you want to make yourself feel better by pretending that it's only when teams lose that they protest ownership because that's what's happening at Liverpool, then whatever helps you sleep at night. |

They wouldn’t protest to get a game called off, storming the stadium, if the team were going well like at the minute
