Is he really captain material though?

Our performance against the Rock (and lots of other games) really needed a captain to kick players into gear. Give them a bit of sh*# and lead by example and I don’t really see it from him (maybe im wrong)

Maybe Duffy would be better placed for this? I could see players listening to him.

Thought Coleman led by example in Copenhagen.

I can’t imagine Duffy being captain. One of the least intelligent lads in the squad.

I'd say Coleman is perfect. Passionate, vocal and gets stuck in on behalf of his team mates.

His intelligence is irrelevant. Hes clearly a leader. Capt material in my book. A monster.

Don't think Coleman has done much wrong to lose the captaincy, it's just another example of the reactionary "lets change absolutely everything" attitude after last night. His delivery was generally poor, but at the same time he attacked tirelessly, turned his marker inside out on every occasion, and put in probably 2-3 good balls.
We're decent enough..

Does it matter? It's just who goes up for the coin toss.

Exactly

He’d hardly strike me as one for “rallying the troops” Coleman anyway. He hasn’t the voice for it for a start

Maybe if Coleman managed to cross the odd ball into the box it might help his position as a captain and a leader.....he is captain because he is a yes man, pure and simple.

It does matter IMO. A good capt is a big plus in any team.

I’m thinking when players go missing in games, like hendrick, Brady etc and the captain should be towing the line?

Hendrick seems to go missing for long periods, I can’t help feeling that wouldn’t happen under Keane.

Maybe if Hendrick was captain, he might take more responsibility and not go missing.

The captains at Burnley and Derby must be sh*t as well. A player doesn’t become a leader because they get an extra bit of cloth. Most of the iconic captains in football history were natural leaders and would have had an influence regardless of whether they walked out first or not.

Wanted competition for him but I'd rate Sidibe over Coleman tbh

I'd be a bit p*ssed if I was him, had a very good 2nd half of the season after a mediocre start.
