34 in October. I reckon he will stay one year at Everton as a player and then stay as a coach.

Getting a lot of high praise from Lampard and Alli. What exactly is he like behind the scenes?

Haven't rated Coleman in an Irish jersey for more years than I care to remember, full sure he's highly thought of at Everton but for me that's sweet FA
Will always be unfulfilled potential to me and about as far away from 'a best of' to represent Ireland as I am |

Looked injured when he went off. Shouldn't have played this game. |

Everton trying for Kyle Walker-Peters, whether they get him or not, suggests they're seeing the same situation with Coleman that we've seen with Ireland - his days as a right wing back are all but done. Probably looking at him playing as the right of three centre backs from now on and, given how stacked we are for centre backs, maybe a backup role at international level.
Depth at right wing back could become an issue for us though. Obviously Doherty is first pick, but Kenny seemed to give up on Christie half way through the June window, Browne was decent but clearly playing out of position and looked uncomfortable at times, Ebosele is seen as an attacking player for now. McNamara the only other option I can think of but he's never been called up.

His best games were in the early days under Trapattoni. I've always felt he never really performed to his full potential for us. Only the odd glimpse of him running at defenders like he would do at Everton. |

Ebosele I suspect with Udinese selling Molina (a question of when not if) will be only one of two RWBs on their roster Brandon Soppy who performed well as back up to Molina I suspect will be initially first choice with Ebosele 2nd choice. Wouldn't say their is much in it.
That will have to get Kenny thinking about playing Ebosele there especially if he performs well. Ogbene might be better served as a wing back long term as well. Obafemi Parrott Idah Robinson can all play up top not to mention if he says Ebosele as an option there. We will constantly have attacking players developing/coming through with the talent we have. Ranging from young lads Evan Ferguson an obvious one to left field options like Georgie Kelly!

With games coming thick and fast, was hoping that Coleman would get the nod.

Think Patterson will likely start most games for Everton unless he picks up a knock.

Coleman should be winding down for us and Everton from here on in, so long as Doherty is fit and available then Coleman should be purely back up. No space for sentiment and trying to shoe horn him into the team when he cant get up and down the line anymore at wingback and theres an abundance of young and highly rated natural centre backs.

With 3 games in a week I was hoping Coleman would get a start today.
Hopefully gets a few minutes from the bench at least. Looks to be a squad player now if we're being honest, will be difficult to select him for the national team if he hasn't kicked a ball

We could start introducing mcnamara on the right back wing and manning as the left wing back position. Both have been playing week in, week out in the championship. Brady looks like he's staying injury free for Preston, browne did a good job in the last ireland games at RWB and you could give ogbene a shot there too. Chances are Coleman, Duffy and Doherty could go without kicking a ball up until the Scotland game. |
