Maybe the referendums played a part on the day.

Bitter much lads? LOL

I used to resent our rugby team for years (especially during Kerr/Staunton naughties era) like yourselves and it was only because I couldn't stand the superiority complex amongst the bandwagoners, roaring barstooler fans etc etc rather than the actual players themselves.

Taking delight in watching Ireland lose to England even if its in a sport you don't give a sh*te about, it's not for me tbh.

Wings? They're only the band The Beatles could have been.

weird behaviour alright. Not a big rugby fan but my experience of English rugby fans is that they are absolutely unbareable. D4 ones here are too but not near as bad

We want a united Ireland just with no D4 heads or unionists or lads who like rugby.

There will be riots in south Dublin tonight. The referendum was a bad enough blow but now the goys let them down.

Can we reverse annex D4 and co. Be like crimea for the Brits. They can even build a bridge directly to south Dublin connecting it to the motherland. Honest to go it's a crime we lost some good Gaels in the North but have to put up with Tarquin and the goys.

A few people on this thread have said “could today get even better”
What else happened that I’m missing?

There was certainly a lot of arrogance in some sections this week leading into the game. Jamie Heaslip for example said that Ireland would have to get 2 red cards in order to lose the game. t**ser.

England did to us what we traditionally did to the bigger nations about 15 years ago. Waited in the long grass and upped their game on the day.

I'm not a big rugby fan by any stretch, but losing to England in anything stings. I fear we're gonna experience that feeling a few more times before the year is out Cry

Let’s stay in our lane and not ever be boyish about anything. Is it possible that’s one Irish people are scared of success. Unless that success is Russian imperialism?

Why’s there such a focus on a grand slam?

Ireland have the 6 nations won

It’s like winning the Euros but being all disappointed as you lost a match against a neighboring country along the way

We are terrible when we have the favourites tag. Plucky underdog is where we succeed best.

Shame we didn't win grand slam because it is an achievement but winning the championship overall is the ultimately still the main prize and we should win that next week.

It was just an example
Always found it strange that if you win the tournament but don’t win every game to do so you aren’t really that happy

In what other sport would this strange scenario occur.
It’s daft

And that’s before you even get into the triple crown
