Savage really. Grand Slam champions. Number 1 in the world. Now the U20s in a WC final. Whatever it is were doing it right. England on top against France so far in other semi.

Will be a big ask to beat France in the final. But we have a really good side this year and we're not without hope. Potentially four or five 25+ cap seniors in that Ireland Under 20 team I'd say - Prendergast, Gleeson, McCarthy the standouts. Interesting to see the best Northern Hemisphere teams well ahead of the three big Southern Hemisphere teams at this level at the moment. Seeing New Zealand reduced to having to play Georgia in a seventh place playoff is quite something.

Prendergast looks to be Sextons successor. Not straight away but in the not too distant future. In the next few seasons he will probably over take Byrne as Leinsters number 10. You have Crowley at Munster also so we are fairly well stocked in that area for the foreseeable future.

Not every day an Irish team plays in a World Cup final in any sport so looking forward to watching this. Think it is a long shot to win it, France are 7 to 10 point favourites going in, but a great experience and opportunity for the team all the same, especially after everything that's happened in the last couple of weeks.

Well beaten - the difference between the Irish players in provincial academies and sub academies and the French players who play Top 14 and Pro D2 was very obvious today. Ireland were marginally the second best team in the tournament ahead of England and South Africa. France were miles ahead of everyone.
