O'Neill has underplayed Hoolahan in two campaigns in fairness.

I would criticize Trap more in the sense that he was too rigid in not playing Hoolahan whereas O'Neill has used him more and had him starting competitive games which would never have happened under Trap.

Both managers aren't blameless in under playing Hoolahan but there could be something regarding his fitness to play consecutive games as his club managers seem to have taken a similar approach to O'Neill.
their was a big clamour from dunphy etc. Dunphy went on a massive rant the night we lost to Italy I remember.

True.  Roy Keane only has 67 I think.  He got 5 years in and around the Ireland team. Keith Andrews only got 4 years.

43 caps, but only 15 of them were competitive starts, only 1 of which came under Trap.

Read something on the 42 earlier, he only completed 90 minutes in competitive matches 3 times.

Should have been in the team for every game after that performance vs Deportivo.

What a waste of a talent.

Fake news.

Sadlier said that Wes didn't have a great lifestyle when he was young in the LOI and that he flourished after correcting it.

Wes said as much himself.

Can't imagine many LOI players having a great lifestyle in comparison to Premier League/Championship/SPL players at the time.

He was a bit pudgy in his Shelbourne days alright, he seemed to have corrected that by the time he was at Blackpool though.
We're decent enough..

Sadlier was right. Then Dunphy went off on one. As if he himself had been offended.

Is he injured at the moment? He hasn't been in the match squad either of Norwich's last two games.

Simply out of favour, as far as I can make out. Maddison and Leitner are ahead of him in his position. He's out of contract in the summer and no offer of a new deal has been made. He's due a testimonial at the end of the season, and it looks increasingly likely that'll be his Norwich swansong. It's probably fair to suggest he retired from international football at the right time.

It'll be interesting to see what his next career move will be.

Or could do a stint out in Australia
Eamonn Dunphy:"I'll tell you who wrote it, Rod Liddle, he's the guy who ran away and left his wife for a young one".

Bill O'Herlihy: Ah ye can't be saying that now Eamonn
