(From 'The Athletic' twitter feed) UK gov't emails that show how much they wanted #NUFC takeover: "Attempts to give PL 'assurances they seek'" "PIF aim to invest $30bn into UK" Sorry about the sh1t formatting etc - it might be easier just to click on the link below and take it from there lol:

Oh look more proof it's the Saudi Government that are Newcastle's owners.
But hey ho Newcastle fans live in their deluded little bubble. |

Huge win considering Spurs and United got results
Ivan Toney scored a first half penalty but also missed one - Think the commentator said he had scored his last 30 or 31 Phenomenal record!

I wouldn't say we live in a deluded little bubble. Newcastle united are owned by a ruthless Middle Eastern dictatorship that are pumping millions of pounds into the club and city as part of a sports washing project, we see it for what it is and are enjoying the 30 pieces of silver.

I'd buy Toney back in the Summer(if he'd be willing to come back). He has been brilliant this year and it a "proper" striker. Have you managed to get over to any games this season? I've missed a load of them myself this season.

I don't think he would come back to be honest - He always seems to enjoy scoring against us and would have to compete with Isak and Wilson.Depending on relegation I could see the likes of Maddison or Ward Prowse arrive in the summer.

Yesterday he had an effort saved in the first half, before showing balls of steel to step up and score a second effort in 1st half injury time. (This was also after he had a "goal" chalked off for the tightest of offsides) His manager rates him the best penalty taker in the world and even after the miss versus against Newcastle, I'd agree. Considering he's doing all this while under the threat of a lengthy ban for gambling charges, the man has an amazingly strong temperament.

Aye, a proper striker indeed, but he's actually more than that. He also gets his share of assists, and when BFC fall back for a low defensive block, you'll see him drop back to the half way line, or even deeper, to do his bit. Also outstanding at defending corners, since he has a great leap on him to head clear. I've no idea whether he'd go back to NUFC, but if/when Spurs should sell Kane, he'd be a brilliant replacement.

Yep,Watched the game and I was shocked he missed ! Poor penalty but nowhere near as bad as Salah today and the "Goal" he had chalked off was indeed offside. I don't think any team will touch him until the gambling stuff is sorted.

What a job Eddie Howe has done with the players he inherited from Steve Bruce under the Mike Ashely era! Joelinton - Willock - Almiron -Saint Maximin - Shar -Longstaff -Murphy - Wilson have all been fantastic this season
Absolutely ripped Spurs to shreds in the first 20 minutes today.

There was a brilliant article written by one of the lads on the Athletic a few years ago about the 2009 Championship winning season and the likes of Nolan, Barton and the coaching staff were interviewed for it. They spoke about the togetherness of the squad and the club in that season and this current squad definitely look the exact same. The whole season just looks like it’s being driven on momentum now and they look like they’re having a great craic.

Think Newcastle will need at least 7 points from the last 5 games as I don't see Liverpool dropping points.

Amazing! All it took was a dream, and a £300 million investment by Saudi Arabia's PIF.

Most of the team were going down with Mike Ashley and Steve Bruce last season.
Howe has worked wonders with Wilson, Almiron, Joelinton, Longstaff, Murphy, SaintMaximin, Anderson etc. Isak came in for 60M but got injured after 2 games and missed half the season. Defence has been brilliant and the back four and goalkeeper combined cost less than Harry Maguire. |
