It's crazy how far football has gone from what it used to be.

I'm not persuaded that football is any more corrupt than its ever been. I mean, it's nearly half a century since eg Havalange took over at FIFA: Or half a century before that, just look at what this character got up to: I just hink that there are far more zeros attached to the sums involved than ever before, which in turn has attracted far bigger sharks looking to get their bite out of it. While the scale of the game means that it draws far more scrutiny and brings it to the attention of ever more people.. Indeed, I suspect that that scrutiny might even mean that there is actually less corruption than before, since the Media now delve deeper than ever. For example, Havalange was allowed to retire after 24 years at the top of FIFA, bequeathing his place to his chosen successor, Sepp Blatter. Whereas Blatter was eventually forced out - something I suspect will also happen to Infantino, who surely cannot continue to keep one step ahead of the media and the law forever. For as Terry Venables always says: "Football doesn't build character, it reveals it."

Maybe the West will flip flop on Saudi Arabia and they'll be on the naughty step and then we will have to sanction them and their murderous war in Yemen will actually be an issue.
The main guy in the article is the de facto boss of Newcastle United

Things appear to be clicking which is good to see.
Miggy seems to have taken the Grealish jibe and run with it, been superb this season.

The funny thing is since the takeover Howe has still kept the core of the group of players who were going down with Steve Bruce - Almiron - Wilson - Murphy - Schar - Longstaff - Willock all started the last 2 games and Joelinton and Anderson came off the bench with Fraser ,Lewis and Lacelles still in the squad. Eddie Howe

More bad news for Newcastle. Look's like the war in Yemen is now going to be an issue - It would be hilarious if the same thing that happened to Chelsea and Abramovich happens to Newcastle.
“From unanswered questions about 9/11, the brutal murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi, and the exporting of extremism, to dubious jailing of peaceful dissidents and conspiring with Vladimir Putin to punish the U.S. with higher oil prices, the Saudi royal family has never been a trustworthy ally of our nation,” Durbin said. “It’s time for our foreign policy to imagine a world without this alliance with these royal backstabbers.”

Did well to dig out a draw at Old Trafford although Rashford should have won it at the death .

The better team in the first half and how Varane's tackle on Wilson isn't a penalty, I'll never know

United were denied a stone wall penalty in the second half too. Found Nick Pope time wasting strange, United were there for the taking.

Was that the one on Sancho? The only seemed to show one replay from an awful angle on it. Overall the standard of refereeing the last few weeks have been an absolute joke

Newcastle manager Eddie Howe had earlier said people should "be careful with comments and opinions" when responding to Klopp's comments.
Meanwhile in the home land this happened a few days ago, look what happens when you have comments and opinions there. A Saudi court sentenced three members of the Howeitat, a tribe forcibly ejected to make way for the $500 bn Neom megacity, to death earlier this month for resisting displacement, a UK-based rights group has reported. Shadli, Atallah, and Ibrahim al-Howeiti were arrested in 2020 for opposing the eviction of their tribe for the project and were handed down death sentences on 2 October by Saudi Arabia's Specialised Criminal Court, according to UK-based rights group Alqst. ____________________ W'hay Go Team Newcastle - WE ARE NOT A SAUDI STATE OWNED COMPANY DUMMIES. IT'S JUST THAT 80% OF OUR PARENT COMPANY IS OWNED BY THE SAUDI STATE. WHICH IS NOT THE SAME THING. DUH |
