By remarkable coincidence Newcastle United will host two international friendly matches this week. Costa Rica and South Korea will be in town. Their opponents, Saudi Arabia. It will be interesting to see who the locals support, especially with tickets priced at a cool £5 each.

I like to see an Irish player at the club but good to see Jeff Hendrick move on. £50k a week for 4 years was £10 million! 25 caps and 3 goals, free signings are usually free for a reason!
The champions league games are going to be brilliant, PSG, Dortmund and Milan will be class at St James.

Buzzing for him! His uncle is a mate of mine and reckons this kid can go to the top!

Left Back Alex Murphy (Ex Galway United) came on in the friendly v Chelsea.
Interesting to see if he is in Howe's plans as Jamal Lewis was loaned to Watford with an option to buy.

I don't believe the club he has joined is one that is owned by Newcastle's owners so I doubt any players go directly there.

Just imagining Newcastle buy a player for a large amount of money and for whatever reason it doesn't work out for them. Don't have to be a genius to figure out where any such player might end up.

Hopefully the summer break gives Eddie Howe time to educate himself on the situation in Saudi Arabia, as he promised last year. |
