Met a few others when I worked at Gatwick airprt, but was only a quick hello:
Barry McGuigan, cilla Black, Damon Hill, Anthea Turner, Maureen Lipman, Stellios, the English Cricket team and Richard Branson. Passed the time of day.
Best ever was meeting Paul McGrath, closely followed by Jack Charlton and his wife Edited by Babysis - 19 Aug 2008 at 8:32am |

Yeah I never forgave him for that the dirty cheating sh1t, he and a few other PSV players came into a pub in Eindhoven I was in 1985, still a bit fresh in the memory that cheating stuff then as well. Briefly met George Best in a Pub in Dublin early 80’s he was very pissed unfortunately. Sat beside Phil Lynott on a flight from Bristol in the Early 80's, very good guy sadly missed like the man above. Muhammed Ali came to the home town in 1972 for a charity thing when he was fighting in Croker was very young at the time, would have been great to speak to him he was in his prime then as well. Had some Irish connections from Ennis. http://www.boxing-memorabilia.com/aliirish.htmEdited by Tash Kent - 19 Aug 2008 at 5:42am |

Where I grew up in London has in the last few years become full of ones from the soaps etc
The one who plays Carla in corrie, Samantha Janus (the one who plays Ronnie in Eastenders) and her hubby Mark Womak, Eddie Grant in Brookside, Seamus Moore, Few of the ones from the Bill, a couple of the ones from Teachers, Adrian Dunbar and the one who played Dirty Den's son in eastenders all drank in my local where I used to work in London. All sound enough for a chat
Simon Pegg from Shaun of the Dead drank in there, but never got chatting to him as he was not the friendliest.
Also got a hug and kiss from Richard Attenborough

Sitting at home watching TV, thinking of turning it off as it was no good for me, there was a knock on our front door. When I answered it there stood a small man in a red suit.
"Do you know Liam?" he asked "Liam who?" I enquired' "Don't know! He drives a van!" said the man. "Ah Liam! Yes, he lives three doors down" "Thanks!" "No problem" I said as I shut the door. It was only when I sat down to watch some more porn that it struck me that I had been talking to the singer Don Baker. He has never been to see me since and I never get a Christmas card. That bastard! |

I met that diving bast*rd Eric Gerets of Belgium, he dived for the late free from which Belgium beat us 1-0 in a WC82 qualifier (Stapleton had a perfect goal disallowed by a completely bent Portuguese ref.......). Anyhow I met Gerets at Euro 88, still have the photo, I dunno why I forgave the boll*cks....... |
