I met that diving bast*rd Eric Gerets of Belgium, he dived for the late free from which Belgium beat us 1-0 in a WC82 qualifier (Stapleton had a perfect goal disallowed by a completely bent Portuguese ref.......).  Anyhow I met Gerets at Euro 88, still have the photo, I dunno why I forgave the boll*cks.......Angry

Sitting at home watching TV, thinking of turning it off as it was no good for me, there was a knock on our front door. When I answered it there stood a small man in a red suit.
"Do you know Liam?" he asked
"Liam who?" I enquired'
"Don't know! He drives a van!" said the man.
"Ah Liam! Yes, he lives three doors down"
"Thanks!"
"No problem" I said as I shut the door.
It was only when I sat down to watch some more porn that it struck me that I had been talking to the singer Don Baker.

He has never been to see me since and I never get a Christmas card. That bastard!

Yeah I never forgave him for that the dirty cheating sh1t, he and a few other PSV players came into a pub in Eindhoven I was in 1985, still a bit fresh in the memory that cheating stuff then as well.

Briefly met George Best in a Pub in Dublin early 80’s he was very pissed unfortunately.

Sat beside Phil Lynott on a flight from Bristol in the Early 80's, very good guy sadly missed like the man above.

Muhammed Ali came to the home town in 1972 for a charity thing when he was fighting in Croker was very young at the time, would have been great to speak to him he was in his prime then as well.

Had some Irish connections from Ennis.
