We've a small number, they have a big number,  from managers to fans, from players to executives.
As I asked the previous poster have you spent any time with their fans or even their players and executives to back yer words up?

Can tell you from a fans point of view most are "football" fans and dont bring any of what your saying to the games maybe it was the case 10-15 years ago but not anymore

How can you confirm this? Have you ever spent anytime in the company of their supporters to be able to substantiate your theory's?

They are apparently bringing back Lawrie Sanchez who left them to go to Fulham and still hasn't been forgiven by NI fans. It will be an interesting few months if they appoint him. An unpopular manager, a sh*t football team, a kip of a stadium and fans who would much rather support the team south of the border (as they are better). Reminds me of SPRINGTIME FOR HITLER (Mel Brooks The Producers). So many things that are wrong could turn out to be right! Jaysus!

If they dropped the Northern from their title and added Republic of to it instead then they would definitely get more nationalists playing for them. Also they could look into changing their name from the IFA to something else as they could lose a load of dyslexia sufferers to the FAI, and unionist dyslexes at that!

It may encourage more catholics
It may encourage those from a nationalist background

It will do nothing for nationalists as the UK national anthem is an irrelevence to an irish nationalist

I recall being at a Reds game when the UFF fired hand genades into the ground trying to kill C'ville supporters.

Have never attended a North 'international' game, it was always unsafe, especially during the 80's when pretty much the whole Windsor crowd sang sectarian songs and other loyalist paramilitary ditties on internatioinal nights.

It was a mixed crowd though, UVF and UDA supporters mixed openly on the Kop.

Ah...the good old days!!

I was at our games in 88,93 & 94 and never felt unsafe although there was certainly sectarian chanting such as the Sash and Billy Boys.  I never felt under threat but it wasn't a pleasant atmosphere.

I did go up to a few others at the time and you would hear the Sash and the Billy Boys but no way was it anything close to the whole crowd.  I never heard any songs supporting Loyalist terrorist organisations although I wouldn't know many such songs I never heard any with UDA, UFF, UVF etc.   Thankfully it is all changed now and you never hear the Sash or Billy Boys.

I was at the game in 93 also and 'unpleasant' is certainly a mild term, especially when guys round me in the Railway stand are glorifying the Greysteel massacre in song. A few mates were at the 88 game and were informed by the RUC that they could not guarantee their safety when they arrived. They were in a group of 30 Ireland fans from Belfast and spent the whole game surrounded by the police for their own safety. The did however watch the match and were escorted to the end of the Boucher Road after the game.
