You're having a laugh if Hart got MOM! He had one save to make, from James near the end, FFS if you had to give it to a keeper at least Ali Baba or whatever his name is made a few saves. Fookin jokeshop if Hart got it. Ah but hold on, he's English innit? Same as STevie G gets MOM for 20 minutes and previously from Ray Wilkins when he made a comeback against Man U and was anonymous for the game, but because he was back, Wilkins gave it to Gerrard. Where do they get these goons? Jaysus fookin wept lads.

Its a British channel showing favouritism towards British players, hardly worth getting worked up over. We are twice as bad as the English with regard building up our own, James McCarthy being the prime example.

Disagree, at least ESPN had the honesty and wisdom to select McCarthy. Picking ridiculous choices is just wrong and you may as well scrap them if choices such as I mentioned previously keep on cropping up. They used to give it to Bryan Robson every other live game as well, he was a great player no question, but he didn't deserve half the awards he used to get.

you must be having a laugh??? andy carroll, 3 england caps, 35 million quid?? jordan henderson, 1 england cap, 20 million quid?? that may be the desperate acts of liverpool fc, but if that is clearly hyping up players more than us. supporting your own is different from hyping. The man of the match always goes to an Irish player for home internationals, we got kicked off the park against Russia, an an Irish player gets the MOTM awards, they are silly awards, not sure why people care about them.

I dont see your point? I didnt deny the Enhlish hype players, but we do it too. What about our own, St Ledger cant get his game in the Championship but the way we talk about him is laughable. Wes Houlihan/Keith Fahey et al, all decent pros, but not world class, yet the way some people talk about them would lead to believe otherwise. Edited by Ireland4ever - 17 Jan 2012 at 5:32pm |

man united definitely have the need for that sort of player...
and mccarthy could potentially fill the void. but the last thing we need is a good young midfielder with potential siting on the bench at old trafford. lets have him finish the season playing every week in the epl, gaining confidence, etc. before a move to united. Only seen glimpses of him on MOTD and Sky unfortunately. He definately seems to have made all the difference yesterday v Everton. Played some nice touches to get the ball from midfield out to the winger for their goal- and first point in God knows how long Also a lovely back-heel pass from him freed Victor Moses up in what should have been a second in a well executed one-two move. Wonderful distributional sense combined with some delightful midfield trickery are the strongest impressions I'm generally left with after watching him in the last few weeks, but as said already I'm only going by various tv highlights atm. Either way, it would be nice to see Wigan stay up (imo). They're not the worst team in the prem.

Another superb display from James. How Liverpool didn't sign him when they had the chance I will never know.

To be fair, calling Adam and Henderson substandard is an insult to the word ' substandard'. Oh, and I'll include Spearing in that as well. |

McCarthy is just what Liverpool need. A young energetic midfielder with lots of potential. Spearing and Adam aren't a patch on young James
