Why do PGMOL do this? Hardly fair on him.

Officials up to standard tonight?
No, poor tonight. Wasn’t sure on the first one, second one was a peno for me. Yet more inconsistency.

Who was the VAR official on Wednesday? I'd imagine Chelsea will be hearing retrospectively from PGMOL with a couple of apologies surrounding Virgil Van Dijk and his eagerness to try and give away a penalty.

John Brooks was on VAR. I doubt they will be hearing from PGMOL as there isn't a clear and obvious error. The independent panel may have a few on those incidents though.

There was as much a clear and obvious error as there was with the non awarding of a penalty for Liverpool at home to Arsenal.

No, that's not the case. For handballs, there are clear circumstances that can mitigate against it being handball. For fouls, it is more subjective.

Dale Johnson explains all this clearly in his VAR review piece on ESPN today.

They'd probably rather have the two penalties than get an apology from PGMOL

Both were penalties I thought

Paul Tierney was under pressure earlier in the season for giving decisions against Liverpool! Didn’t have the bottle to give anything against them last night, standard of referee’s in the English top flight is embarrassing.

They won't get an apology as VAR was used correctly last night.

Take the red googles off, Bottled every decision, based on his performance earlier in year,,
LFC clearly better team zero doubt, but if the VVD challenge on gallagher in first few mintutes was other end,, ZERO doubt ref was giving it as quick as he possibly could

So, it was obvious the ref missed the fouls in both cases and the VAR guy on seeing the fouls decided against asking the ref to take a look. So it's really the VAR guy who shafted Chelsea

James McConnell is some baller. I thought he was excellent when he came on.

Some of the other young lads had great games too.

Will be interesting to see how they get on post Klopp.  I have a feeling most of them could end up like Fergie's kids of 2012/13 like Cleverly and Welbeck etc..

A great manager can get things out of players an ordinary manager cant.
