There's something about a Mane miss. When he misses, he misses woefully and more infuriatingly than anybody else in the game. He has a terrible habit of missing the ones it looks easier to score form.

This lot are a serious football team. Every first seeded side will be praying to avoid them in the last 16.
Wijnaldum is like sexual chocolate at times with the football, some of his touches. Allison VVD Matip absolutely superb. Jaysus Lovren was on the pitch for 5 minutes and sleeping for the last chance. He is simply abysmal. You would think after that Matip will get a run while Gomez is out and that will be massive for their PL chances. Salah again coming up with the goods. Between himself and Mane they could have had 4/5. Superb performance but that coolness in front of goal still hasn't clicked fully. Sad to see Napoli go out. A serious side. They really should have won and a few of those drawn games and never been in this scenario. If they take the Europa seriously they should be favourites. Koulibaly is phenomenal.

Anyway.
Potential last 16 opponents are: Borussia Dortmund Barcelona Porto Bayern Munich or Ajax (Ajax would take top spot if they beat Bayern at home tomorrow) Real Madrid Juventus Big Virgil will miss the first leg of the last 16 tie. I don't fear any of those teams one bit. I think we'd take any of them. Hoping for Real Madrid. We stuffed them 5-0 on aggregate in the last 16 10 years ago and we'd do it again this time. The one team left in this competition that I think would not suit our style is Atletico Madrid, and we can't get them in the last 16. We'll just have to stuff 'em on their patch in the final.

I’ll no doubt get pelters, but he’d have had to have jumped out of the way of it not to save it. Mind you Ospina did that first half  VVD was immense, has he had a bad game yet for Liverpool? They’re a brilliant team. Will take some stopping on all fronts

It cannot be underestimated how much VVD helps his CB partner. Matip tonight looked immense.
Robertson. This lad was bought from Hull in a part player/money exchange for Kevin Stewart. Jaysus incredible business by the people behind the scenes at Liverpool. He is a scarily good player now Robertson.

Is that racist? Can you be a positive racist Wijnaldum is a lad who many Liverpool fans would have happily seen moved on over the past year or so. He is a class act and for me he shows exactly what Klopp is all about - faith in the players that they will come through rough times, come out the other side and be all the better player for it. Wijnaldum really is a class act

Great stuff by Liverpool tonight, a very entertaining side to watch. VVD reminds me of Rio Ferdinand on his reading of the game and style of play. He's a top quality CB. I'd expect them to reach the semi finals at least

For some reason, you missed this part of the post
Liverpool 1-0 Napoli Point proved. It was a bit mad though, that a Slovenian ref was in charge of a game with an Italian team in it. So just as well that it's VAR all the way from now on.
