Arsenal looking good. 5 teams fighting for them top 4 positions. Who will miss out

If Arsenal are looking good after dropping 4 points from their last 6, Liverpool must be looking wonderful while still unbeaten.

The game could have gone either way. Liverpool should have had the Mane goal stand, and a penalty when Van Dijk was clobbered to the ground by the Arsenal keeper. But unlike more progressive leagues, the EPL doesn't have VAR. That's what it's for. But a point at Arsenal is not the end of the world with 27 games still to go.

Not sure about Alisson for the goal, could have done better, did he need to come out and then leave such a big opening for lacazette. Great finish by him though.

Liverpool are getting draws against the better teams shows how good the defence is. VVD has justified his price tag.

Based on the season so far i’d say the top 5 will be

Man City
Liverpool
Chelsea
Arsenal
Spurs

Alisson turned a likely tap in into a more difficult chance.

The alternative is what his Brazil team mate did for City at the weekend. Come rushing out, take the player down, concede a penalty and then a goal.

Leno, Allison and Ederson were all at fault for goals at the weekend IMO.
Allison was lucky not to give away a goal earlier in the game when he rushed out needlessly only for Mkhtiryan's header to go wide. He'll probably improve once he gets to grips with the league, but has made a few mistakes in his short time there so far.

Aside from the odd mistake (which every keeper makes) Allison's presence alone has definitely given Liverpools defenders a lot more belief and comfort mind, as a unit they look far more confident because they trust him.

At times last season you could see the nervousness around the defence especially with Karius in the goal and rightly so.

City will leave all behind them, Not much between Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Spurs, Cant write utd out of top 4 just yet, theyre only 4 behind it and it is only November, They will throw money at the side in January, but more times than not they haven't got the right players in. Think Liverpool fans get carried away to easy when speaking about how good they are, Still have mates think theyre the best side in Europe at the minute.

I don't know about that tbh. Liverpool are a lot closer to to city than the other teams you've, mentioned.

Liverpool will probably end up as their closest challengers.

2. Liverpool's 2008/09 team finished second with 86 points – Man United won 11 in a row and kept an incredible 11 clean sheets on the spin as they managed to edge ahead of a very good Liverpool team in the title race. Liverpool beat United home and away, including a 4-1 win at Old Trafford, and the men from Merseyside had a better goal difference and scored more than United. But the title went to Old Trafford, as did the League Cup and Club World Cup, though the Red Devils lost the Champions League final.

1. Manchester United's 2011/12 side finished second with 89 points – Manchester City beat United to the title by the skin of their teeth, with two injury time goals on the last day of the season putting them top on goal difference. To finish second on 89 points was cruel on United, but they bounced back to win the league the following season.

I don't know what Liverpool fans you meet, but most I meet are a bunch of GavinTheSlobs, constantly talking the team down even when it's winning, let alone when its not. One of them said that 7-4 was "the most dangerous lead in football' during the European Cup semi final.

After taking home a hard fought, well earned point at the weekend, most clubs fans would be happy enough. Most Liverpool fans were conceding the title already. Honestly, the only thing missing was the Boom/Bust model. Completely ott.

I was thinking last night that Liverpool could go the full season unbeaten and still not win the league .

It would be such a Liverpool thing to do.

So he kept me soul for ransom.

True.  Problem though is that City are playing football on a completely different level from everyone else in the EPL.  Only for that Liverpool would be well on course to win the league.  All we can do is hope they drop points through complacency a few times but even that looks unlikely with the high standards demanded constantly by Guardiola and the strength in depth in their squad.

You reckon Liverpool's accounts are squeaky clean? Or any other team wealthier than most countries?
