I hope someone close to John Barnes will have a word with him and get him to take a wee break from twitter.

For the past several weeks he's spent almost the entirety of every day furiously arguing with hundreds of people on it, quite a few of whom unfortunately were racist ****s intent on winding him up.

He's absolutely correct that we have to smash racism and get more black coaches and managers into the game. However, I'm not sure that arguing back and forth with idiots on twitter is the most effective way of going about it.

That can't be good for one's mental health.

Wouldn't know a lot about him, I'd nearly prefer to stick with the 2 youngsters.

Matip is very injury prone and will likely to be partnered by Fabinhio in the bigger games at least.

Salah should only be missing for the 1 game I think.

Ah right, I was thinking Salah.

Whaddya reckon to this fella?

Liverpool have been offered Daryl Janmaat as short-term defensive cover and are considering bringing him on board, TEAMtalk understands.

The Netherlands international left Championship club Watford in October, following their relegation from the Premier League.

The 31-year-old, who normally plays as a right-back, can also play centrally

Unless they're not under contract, yes.

And I wouldn't think there are too many Liverpool-class free agents knocking around just now, esp strikers.

Very unfortunate for Gomez, no one else was involved in the injury.

He’s had surgery so will be out for a few months at a minimum.
Surely Liverpool will have to buy somebody in Jan.

Do you still think Mahrez is a better player?

It’s like Groundhog Day! Crofty above clearly rates him highly as he took offence to me saying he’s overrated.

Mahrez is a better footballer yes, won’t get as many tap ins as Raheem though.

All I said was i disagreed with you that he was overrated. He's not, he's a top player

Sterling’s numbers were also a lot better than Sane’s when he was fit and I think Sane is a much better footballer than both Sterling and Mahrez. Pep trusts Sterling so fair play to him.

Doesn’t make the right runs Mahrez, one trick pony which is why his numbers are nowhere near that of Sterlings and why Sterling starts every game

Can think of about 5 goals from the edge of or outside the box from Sterling since football restarted in the summer alone
