99 up, despite the air of negativity around the team atm, it will be great to see him hit the 100 cap mark on Monday, not sure that he will get a whole lot more thereafter, but richly deserved. Warrior and has also fought the good fight regarding the poppy at considerable personal cost. Gwan Jimmy!

Yes. A lot of respect and affection for James McClean.

"We all dream of 11 James McCleans" has a nice ring to it for Monday, I might try and get that going!

They'd probably end up finishing the game with 7 men and having a row among themselves LOL

100 caps is a fantastic achievement. Few have or ever will get there. Nobody deserves it more than James McClean. Hope he gets the captain’s armband on Monday night.

Has to be the skipper Monday night. Not our most technically gifted player of all time but his attitude was second to none. Hopefully the last couple of years, this year included, he has left an imprint on the younger lads coming through as regards their approach to playing for Ireland. Thanks a bunch Jimmy Mac

Great to see. Easily my favourite member of Ireland’s ‘Club 100’.

No one deserves the recognition more! Most footballers tend to be all about themselves, but this guy has actual beliefs and values. Made the most of his talents on the pitch, can see why Wigan fans love him.

Actually embarrassing the amount of negative comments below the twitter post from our "fans". The man is a great servant to Irish football and two of his goals have given us great memories over the last decade. When did our fans become such entitled little brats.....

Paul Rowan had a piece on him today. That man is fairly sickening. Had a few pointless cuts off McClean in an article about him reaching that milestone. I think we all know what his level is but stating his career didn't live up to his social media efforts and that his continued and future use for Ireland are an indictment of the talent pool is quite pointless stuff.

James has made the most of his talents and shown a dedication and professionalism second to none. We can never expect to have a squad of world class players, but we could and should expect that every player who pulls on the shirt, shows the same level of commitment as James. Separately, but linked in how i see it, is the fact that he is a principled man, not frightened or ashamed to stand up for what is right. Would take a team of  11 McLeans over one of 11 Rice's any day of the week and even if we lost every game. Dignity, pride and honour are top virtues imo. James shown those in spades and on those terms, never let Ireland down. Really looking forward to being there tomorrow night and showing my respect.
