Mostly because they are happy he's not playing at left back. He doesn't have the discipline to play there. Mad that he was starting there over Stephen Ward.

From often perusing their ‘Oatcake’ forum, I get the impression they are just glad he is not starting. I don’t think I have seen a single compliment of his footballing ability on there.

So if McClean doesn't get decent game time between now and Denmark, surely McCarthy will drop him to the bench?? Seeing as McCarthy says he will play in form players

Six months ago, maybe.

I was interested that Alan Judge never got on the pitch over the last two games. Maybe if McClean is totally out of the frame at Stoke.

But whether that extends to McClean would remain to be seen.
