[QUOTE=Hotlips_Hoolahan]Some good crosses and an excellent delivery from the corner for our goal from the much-maligned one.[/QUOT
I had concerns about him before the match, but he had a good game and dealt pretty well with his defensive responsibilities. Fair play, would love to see him reach the 100 cap mark.

It was an excellent delivery from the corner. I see he was booed every touch by idiots.

Incredible goal line clearance, would have been a brilliant finish by Ogbene as well https://twitter.com/laticsofficial/status/1576550064431849472?s=46&t=FHWhpU24kCp5TYHuRUNIHg

Love it, and you had all the knuckle draggers rubbing their hands and talking about the abuse they were gonna throw his way today. Hopefully it stays 1-0 and James gets to celebrate it large with the away fans.

The anti-Irish abuse James McClean has to put up with in the face of absolutely no action being taken:

James McClean calls out sectarian abuseOn his Instagram page, McClean wrote: “For my son, who is seven years old and watches every Wigan game – either being at stadium or on Latics TV – to be asking his mother, ‘why are they booing and singing that song at Daddy?’ And to have to tip toe around answering him is something which should not be happening. “This post is not one for sympathy [trust me, it is not wanted] but one of anger. Considering every single year we have an FA representative come into each club to discuss the same old crap they spew to us about discrimination. Every single year, I challenge them on the abuse. Every single year, they do nothing. “This clip is one [from] yesterday, which can be heard clearly of one particular chant, as well as other chants of ‘f**k the pope and IRA’, being sung by the majority of the 30k crowd, as well as numerous individual chants of ‘fenian bastard, fenian c**t’, ‘you dirty Irish c**t’. “[This was] while displaying a tribute before the game honouring Niall Quinn, who is also the same nationality as myself. Couldn’t make the stupidity up.” He concluded: “I certainly don’t expect any action to be taken by Sunderland themselves, given they did nothing when I was their player.” |

And of course if James McClean had been caught on camera singing "up the RA", this forum would be flooded with condemnation. But just another weekend, with thousands of people screaming "filthy Irish c**nt" at him. And I don't see many words of support here. We are heading into Poppy season, things are only going to get worse for him and his family.

He always seems to get it worst at scumderland and the level of Irish hatred there is sickening considering what Quinn and Keane did for them .

To have the career McClean has had given his natural ability is something else. He really is a credit to himself and his family to have lasted as long at the level he has and will almost certainly be a 100 cap legend for Ireland. Very much in the tradition of Kilbane with more attitude. When you throw in the abuse he gets both on and offline it really is an amazing achievement. Some silly decisions over the years does not justify in anyway the horrible and racial abuse he gets in England.

Sure Niall Quinn was at the game because they were celebrating something to do with him. The FA will give their sh*t statement and that will be that because it's only James McClean. Did Sky Sports even report about it given that gowl wanting to talk about the need for possible education to Chloe Mustaki. |

Yes, I think his silence on this is quite self-serving.
