Some turnaround in his career though.
From conceding 8 against Bournemouth sniffing at relegation to League 1 to getting himself an EPL club and keeping a clean sheet against the Germans in just 12 months

I thought he was super throughout.
His confidence and calmness in a game of that magnitude last night was really impressive. Hopefully this is the start of a long stint in goal for him. Congrats  |

I really felt he should have had more than 2 caps prior to last night. Definitely looks to be capable of stepping up anyway, hopefully he can take that sort of performance into the Poland game!

Exactly. Obviously delighted that he did well last night but throwing someone with 2 caps into a game like that is something that we should have avoided.

Yeah it seems to be a common thing with Ireland and goalkeepers given that Trap expected Westwood to step up despite Given not needing to be used in friendlies during his tenure, then the same happened when Shay retired with Forde. O'Neill continued to play Given whenever he could too! |

Westwood won't get a cap under O'Neill unless he's desperate. His ongoing neglect of Keiren has started before he even became Ireland Manager. The personal grudge between them is getting pathetic that he called up a League 1 reserve keeper over someone playing every week in the Championship so I dare say it'll be someone like Randolph and Elliot competing for the jersey when Forde and Given finally pack it all in.
