Alternatively on Firefox brower you can install uBlock Origin as an extension and it does the same thing if you prefer not to use apps. It blocks all ads and popups while browsing sites anyway so id suggest using it over Chrome or Safari anyway.

I've used Vanced before but ran into trouble trying to use it on my Android TV. Never heard of NewPipe. Also the nephew has one of those kids tablets so was handy getting the premium dirt cheap for him. Don't think there's a work around to get anything like Vanced onto this tablet.

You can sideload them onto both but they aren't really optimised for Android TV so its a bit awkward to control unless you're using a mouse/keyboard. There is another 3rd party Youtube app thats native for Android TV but I cant recall the name of it.

Though as you said if you're using Youtube across multiple devices like that its probably is more convenient to just pay for premium. Especially if you're getting it as cheap as that.

Said it before and had the same experience tonight.  In a jacks ina  pub and they have the toilet roll spin the wheel.  You spin it clockwise and nothing comes down and then you spin it anti-clockwise and nothing comes down.  Then you have to try and find the start of the roll somewhere which has stuck via static or magic maybe to the rest of the fookin roll and cant be found for love not money. Eventally after spinning the Winning Streak wheel a dozen times and put your hand up the fooking casing you eventually find it after much heartache and aggravation.
