Having to express gratitude for getting something you didn’t want or ask for.
Getting a gift of some sh1te jumper for your birthday. Great, I see you’ve ignored my pleas not to buy me clothes as I hate your style and I’ll 100% never wear this clown top but now I have to fake a thank you before waiting an acceptable amount of time to tell you that the jumper is horrendous and then I will renew my fruitless requests not to be bought clobber in future.

Tried to lodge 100 euro in bank. ATM cancelled my transaction but took my money. Do I assume the transaction went through or should I call them tomorrow? Messaged them on Facebook as none of the helplines seem to deal with problems like this.

Anyone have this shoite happen?

You are on a call in work with a big set of headphones over your head and on your ears, and people in the office continue to talk to you and ask you questions when they can see this

Computers.

My laptop automatically updated itself without my permission and now the screen brightness wont work.  The screen is bright like a focking nuclear explosion and cant adjust it.  Updated drivers and all and the manual buttons wont work and there is nothing in the settings menu to change it.

Tip would be to setup a 2nd profile on your laptop and do not give in admin privileges.  Then use this profile for all your browsing etc.  means that if you want to install something etc you will be asked for the admin credentials.   Also safer way to browse if you are hacked etc.

Booked a trip home mid July for a week with the 2 (adult) kids. Heading out West for most of it with the last weekend in Dublin.

- the cost of car hire is shocking. 900€ Mon-Fri in Galway.
- double that if we booked it from Dublin Airport
- as been mentioned on other threads the cost of Hotels in Dublin over a weekend is incredible.

Just hoping the weather holds up Big smile

Yeah car companies sell their stock every 3 years or so, and didn't buy many new ones in 2020/21 with the lack of travelling. By the time they went to restock this year, the chip shortage meant they couldn't buy cars fast enough to meet the demand, and now with everyone travelling more than ever, there's a huge lack worldwide
