People who reverse into car parking spaces. Really annoys me especially in multi-story car parks. They hold people up behind them and it takes longer for them to park. Sometimes they have to straighten the car up or approach from a better angle. Some people need 2 or 3 goes at it Just drive head first in ffs. Even if you get it first time its annoying. For people that do this what possible reason is there for doing this? I mean it takes longer to do, if you are going grocery shopping you have more trouble accessing the boot with a trolley as you have less space and also have to fit the trolley in between cars.

I find it easier to reverse in especially if spaces are tight. It’s also quicker imo

We are going to have a falling out John. No way is it quicker. I am willing to bet 1 million lira on it. How can it be quicker than a headfirst approach? Firstly to reverse in you have further distance to travel by driving past the space then revering in. This results in slower times. Secondly you have to stop the car to change gears. Again slower. Thirdly you have to go more slowly and carefully reversing than going in headfirst. Fourthly it is more unnatural to go in the direction to which you are not facing and more prone to hitting a parked car. The head first way is smooth and seamless and efficient.

Reverse in to parking all the time, in fact some car parks insist on it. Edited by Sham157 - 23 Aug 2019 at 7:09pm |

There’s more chance of an accident reversing out of a space than reversing in.

Technically/legally(?)...someone enlighten me..... you’re supposed to reverse into your driveway.
I reversed out of a driveway years ago and a boy racer prick came bombing down the road and crashed into me. Insurance Company ruling: I had to pay for my damage ....€2,500 He had to pay for his damage.....his mummy’s 3 series BMW written off The guards were called.....surprisingly neither of us were breathysed (happened at lunchtime). While the little sh*t was still in shock he told me that he had been up all night and had just driven down from the North...if only they had drug testing back then. Anyway one of the guards said to me that I shouldn’t have reversed out of the driveway. |

Yes, he's right. When I was doing my lessons, the instructor said that if I reversed out of my house and a car hit me it would go against me in a coirt case.

Reverse in. Otherwise you are reversing out blind.
Also easier to maneouvere into a tight space if reverse into it. So Murph tells me anyway.
