LOL jesus when was that post from? I don't know anyone who could watch the Brighton games from Hughton's era and the current one, even before their recent upturn in fortune, and say that Potter hadn't improved Brighton massively

That's what I find ridiculous about this forum, the full on green bias. O'Shea wasn't the only one, plenty of posters saying he hadn't a clue and they shouldn't have gotten rid of Hughton because he wasn't playing Duffy.
Wouldn't be surprised if he's in the running for the England job sooner or later.

Are you aware of who the current England manger is?

Wasn’t there big talk of Eddie Howe not so long ago?

Nothing against Potter actually think he’s capable. I was one of those saying I find his teams are a bit strange to watch at times. Nothing to do with green bias. I understand why he didn’t play Duffy.

Context badly needed here for plenty he’s a decent manager but Brighton are up to the mighty pastures of 15th place now. 7 pts off 10th I think.

They should survive for the foreseeable future as they have some decent players and are building a decent squad.

I know, it's absolutely hilarious isn't it.
Seriously though has there ever been a season with less to talk about regarding Irish footballers? F*ck all happening.

A lot of celtic fans really are pathetic with their attitude towards Duffy. I watched the game today(he was solid)and they were calling for him to be taken off and even one or two tried to blame him for the goal, when it was nothing at all to do with him. I know he hasnt been good overall but they go way above board with regards their criticism of him at times.

Didn't see the game, but unfortunately for Duffy he can do no right now. The 10 in row has gone up in smoke, and the season has been over for weeks now. That's a lot of anger perpetually coming out week after week until the season ends.

The best he can hope for is to keep his head down and put in some decent performances to at least redeem himself in the eyes of his next club.

I don't know why Irish players bother TBH. They've had the same poxy attitude about any Irish player that's played for them in recent memory, whether it's Stokes, Murphy or O'Dea.

Gosh, I think Celtic fans have a right to be aggrieved somewhat. Duffy has been brought in on a premium salary for Scottish league standards. Hes playing against some poor forward players and been shocking to the point of costing them games.

Today he didn't make his usual calamity of errors and celtic fans should be grateful? Just because he wasn't terrible?

Pretty much called Celtic getting caught this year and got roasted by Celtic fans saying I was deluded. fact is they are an awful bunch at times and their treatment of Duffy isn't surprising. Their owners have been robbing them blind for ten years up against no competition and they are bearing the fruits now. Celtic should have been uncatchable for another 10 years if the club was run right. sh*te coach and sh*te owners

But that's not the issue. The issue is he's getting roasted regardless of how he performs. It's fairly transparent stuff from Celtic fans. They're p!ssed off and scapegoating the low picking fruit.

Duffy has by and large been sh!te for Celtic, but he's one of many issues at the club.

As mentioned, they should be light year ahead of Rangers. Neil Lennon? Give me a break. Penny pinching and a lack of ambition has denied them the 10 in a row not Duffy.

No one said that they should be grateful, the point I made today is, well at least dont say anything at all, stop trying to make up stuff and blame him for everything.  Today he had a good game but you had fans calling him sh*t today and blaming him for the goal just because it suits their agenda.

To be fair to Duffy he was fine today. Whether fine is enough given his wages and the standard of opposition us open to debate, but there's probably not much more he can do in a game like that. If his overall season performance had been of a similar consistent standard to today he wouldn't be getting the criticism he is getting

Well this is the point isn't it, Duffy being fine against this level of opposition is not what he was brought in to do. You could pay a 10th of what Duffy gets for a defender that would be fine.

Its difficult to see how the defence is better with him in it.

I dread Duffy playing this level of fine against Serbia.
