No he can’t play and if Kenny wasn’t trying to play possession football my thoughts might be different but my goodness he really shouldn’t play him and he needs to show conviction now and not play him. I don’t think god himself could have predicted he’d be as bad as he has been for them. I think Celtic thought he would handle it and while it was a worry for me yes in Scotland the level was low enough he’d get away with it.

Maybe it’s a bit much but with Egan, Clark, O Shea, Collins all performing better is he still guaranteed a place on the squad? What would others think? Maybe I’m being a bit harsh but for a man that was suppose to go up and win the league for Celtic it’s been a disaster of a year.

If Kenny picks him for the squad it will be on past performances of a few years ago.
The system exposes all his weaknesses such as possession, pace and passing etc. If anything, picking him for the squad would be a token gesture and playing him would be putting even more pressure on him. Which he really doesn't need. I'd say leave him to find his form again and settle down. Give him some space to collect himself Edited by Left foot - 30 Jan 2021 at 8:39pm |

I think he has to stay in the squad for now, maybe even just for his own benefit, dropping him completely would probably only damage his self confidence further. He's a leader off the field and a strong voice in the dressing room as I understand it.
Having said that though, I can't imagine a situation where I'd want to see him actually play given his form and Kenny's preferred playing style. You'd have to have Egan, Clark, Long, O'Shea and Collins ahead of him at the moment.

I can see your point buts it’s Kennys job to pick the best available 23. At the moment I don’t see Duffy in our top 4 CB’s. It’s our strongest position at the moment. He shouldn’t be picked based on current form. Edited by Zinedine Kilbane 110 - 30 Jan 2021 at 9:20pm |

need to open a poll. How many would want him starting for us if we had a game next week
I could just about understand the support he was getting in the autumn as he had a bit of credit in the bank but he's not getting any better

He certainly had credit in the bank and is the last player to score for us and possibly one of the most likely to score for us. Having said that his form should mean that he doesn't start given how crucial the coming games are. Dropping him from the squad as previous posters suggested is extreme, for me he still has enough credit in the bank to merit being in the squad (for now at least).

[QUOTE=DR.HUGO]I said it before I will say it again it’s all about belief in himself and being confident....right now he’s at rock bottom he needs to leave Celtic ASAP and a manager who can pull him out of the mire.
Mick McMCarthy would do it he’s brilliant at man management although as others on here have said Chris Hughton would be great if forest were interested. [/Edited by Cabra Hoop - 31 Jan 2021 at 12:36am |

It isn't. Most teams in League two either play possession or counter-attackibg styles of football.

I've looked at the st Millen second goal a few times and I really have no idea what Duffy was trying to do.
Duffy is right next to the forward when he first gets the ball, by the time the forward shoots on goal Duffy is 10 feet away...

A clean sheet and no mistakes from Duffy. They seem to have finally found his best position.

Thats uncalled for.
I'm sure Tony would previously have referred to this as "hun behaviour" abusing/mocking one of his own players.
