Ah here. Some around here are mad for a cut off a player. The first he had no choice but to pass back and the keeper had plenty time. The second he was hardly responsible.
I notice how Bandwagon failed to refer to the one goal he actually had a direct hand in i.e. his headed assist for Webster's goal which directly precedes the 1:10 minute mark. Would be a terror to give him credit.

Blaming Duffy for those two goals is absolutely laughable

I don't see Duffy being at fault for either goal BHA conceded. His pressure from the cross also led to one of Brighton's goals. Decent shift imo

Could have done better on the second goal imo. Was a peach of a cross but had Duffy not dropped those couple of steps would have gotten a head to the ball. Other than that no real complaints against probably the best front three in the league.

just saw his positioning for second goal. Got it all wrong but not as if his teammates did much to close the threat down.

About a year ago Duffy was an absolute villain at caltic and his career hit the skids.
Roll forward to today and he pulls a cruyff turn on Ronaldo...

Motm, he's come such a long way, proper ball playing defender now, fair play, even at his best,I never thought he had this in him!

He played one pass in the 2nd half out to Stevens that was an absolute beauty, he's improved so much on that side of things but never seen him play a pass like that before.

Duffy on this form is like having a brand new player in the squad.
He was fantastic and MotM for me last night. And the crowd adore him...big cheers follow almost every touch. We have three terrific young CHs emerging now but Duffy there to guide and help them along is priceless. Legend.

It's remarkable how he seems to be directly involved in at least one goalscoring chance, if not more, in every game.

Also remember that turn he made with the ball in the 1st half to send Ronaldo (of all people) off to the concourse for a hotdog.

Loved his comment in the post match presser, a journo asked him about it in relation to his new found confidence and he said he actually shanked it

Worryingly benched today. Thought he did poorly for Watkins goal v Villa at the time and wondered if Potter would look for scapegoats to arrest the sides slump in form. Hopefully it's just a rest - the next game will tell a lot. |

I dont think he was benched on the back of that, he seems to drop him against high pressing counter attacking teams regardless he done it against City earlier in the season having had several MOTM performances in the games prior.

Connolly still recovering from an ankle injury, he'd definitely be in the squad otherwise.
