Not quite the feel of the Keano promotion season yet but here's hoping. |

Just as Sunderland are at last on the up and optimism is rising, there is fear amongst Newcastle fans that they are on a slippery slope and that they could be on an unstoppable downward spiral if they are relegated this year, which is a distinct possibility. They could well do a Sunderland, so to speak. Crucial six pointer tonight for them away to Brighton.

I don't feel Newcastle will go down this season and think it's between Brighton and Fulham for the third bottom spot. I don't really want Newcastle to go down as if we go up they will be too strong for us in the championship.

1 1 a fair result. Other results went for us so it could have been a lot worse. |

Sunderland still well positioned. Newcastle tonight are looking poorer so far than Fulham did last night and with that clown Mike Ashley still in control have an excellent chance of going down and going into free fall. Clark playing well until the injury to Hayden when he lost concentration for the first goal. Hendrick on now but maybe too late to influence the outcome.

When Newcastle have gone down to the championship under Ashley he has made sure they go straight back up on both occasions by bank rolling then.

He played well yesterday including an excellent through ball to Wyke who didn't have the pace to capitalise and Aiden was also clean through on goal and an iffy hand ball was given against him when he would have been clean through on goal.

Dreadful first half performance, average second half performance but another win
