It was fitting that we would get an important late goal yesterday as two of Liam's three goals for SAFC were significant late ones.

Paddy McNair played 90 minutes for the Under 23s yesterday.

Maybe a return against Brentord on Saturday?

Speculation that Ovie Ejaria is out injured but Jonny Williams could be back.

It's actually sickening to see that most weeks the teams around us can't seem to pull away from us and yet we're incapable of reeling them in.

Imagine if 3 or 4 of those defeats were turned into draws, we would either out of the relegation zone or level with Hull.

It's all or nothing with Sunderland, we either get hammered or snatch and grab, no in between which is now proving to be our downfall.

Unlikely. Starting the season on -10 is more likely of an outcome than things turning around under current ownership.

£120 million worth of a debt just isn't containable at that level of football.

Unless a new owner is found (not likely) we could end up like Coventry City Ouch

£5m to £10m during the summer or even in January would have made all the difference, we're just not strong enough in key areas.

Depressing.

It's hard to dissect because everyone was poor, but O'Shea and Cattermole were an absolute abomination - I've used alot of words to describe people but this is a new one because the pair of them have been disgraceful this season except 1 game, against Burton, which seems about their level now, and these 2 were kept on this season to inspire the younger players in the team. They're so bad they're more of a deterrent than an inspiration.

Hopefully they'll have enough quality to stay up in League 1 next year (that's meant sincerely)

As sad as it sounds but I don't think the club can actually move forward if they survive, what happens afterwards? The austerity continues, the zero backing of the Manager continues. Nothing will actually change.

Austerity is what got the club into this position, there will be more of it in League 1 due to the financial position which the club will be in but atleast when the inevitable Ownership change in League 1 happens then there's atleast a long-term plan which can be developed rather than just settling for mediocrity.
