Clark is a defender who has never been reliable and all hes done is show that again. What sort of imbecile punches another during a friendly?

He's had a rough few months and his Newcastle days are numbered. But punching an opponent is totally out of character and you calling him an imbecile is more reflective of yourself than him.

You don't have his career, in the EPL regularly playing throughout it, without being reliable and a whole lot more as well. Your comment is very ill informed, football wise, whatever about the punch and its questionable wisdom.

He has been very solid at Newcastle and did well in the championship but his formed his decision making has been poor this season so maybe a loan to Boro will suit him.

Jamal Lewis in a similar situation I think. You'd have to question players turning down loan moves in cases where they're being removed from their own club's squad lists.

Pay me to fook off. There's money to be milked from Newcastle I'd say from the players no longer wanted.

Newcastle would have to cover any balance of their wages while they're on loan though.

i don't think he is too fussed about playing football. Boro is just down the road and would have been a handy move yet he turned it down. I'd say he's on decent money and is happy to sit on it doing nothing

You'd have to wonder if Stephen Kenny has pretty much told him his Ireland career is over. Can't see him being called up if he ain't playing first team football. He did get a new contract last year under the Ashley reign I believe until 2023 so yeah I'd say he's happy to sit on that and see where he stands in the summer.

In fact, our options in defence which include established pros (Duffy and Egan), some real break out players like O’Shea, Young players like Omobamidele, and later bloomers like Lenihan he will actually be a victim of alternative options at all levels. Like Kevin Long, there is less reason to select him.

Yeah at this point he's behind Duffy, Egan, Lenihan, O'Shea, Omobamidele, Collins & Dunne. Probably behind K.Long too. McGuinness & O'Hora playing every week too. And then you have Coleman & Manning who can play CB if needed. Turns 33 later this year. 34/35 for the Euro24 campaign. Definitely looks like he's stepping away from Ireland. Not to mention he was fairly dreadful against Serbia and Luxembourg when Kenny last picked him.

But you are mentioning it, despite him being no more "fairly dreadful" than others. Against Serbia he rated 6 (Irish Times and The 42) - the same or higher than Doherty, Travers, Stevens, Molumby, Connolly and Hendrix. He was no more dreadful than anyone against Luxembourg. In fact, Pundit Arena scored everyone 4 - except Bazunu, Coleman, and Clark. The lowest rating (3) was for Stephen Kenny. The Irish Times and Indo had a similar trend. Every player was rated 5 by The 42. We have many CB options now. How many will better Clark's EPL/C'ship career stats? And having done so how many will be branded "an imbecile" by some goose on YBIG? |

Clark could be having a good game but he always had a costly mistake in him. He's well down the pecking order for us.

His lunge in the Belgium game, the one in Serbia. He's the only Irish defender to make mistakes apparently. Pecking Order? He's been pecked into retirement by our 88% unpecked manager.
