How's he getting on at Southend.

It was far across the sea,
When the devil got a hold of me,
He wouldn't set me free,
So he kept me soul for ransom.

Kevin Ball was at the match also (Sunderland's head of youth development)

Worth noting Egan only has less than 3 months in his Sunderland contract, Ball has no say on that matter.

Aye, three clean sheets in the six games he played, Brown seems very happy with him.   Great achievement to recover from his broken leg and clearly is made of strong stuff, didn't lick it off a stone.  Hopefully continues to play and improve, good on him.

Been playing very consistently, has even been nominated for Southend goal of the season with that strike.

However is out of contract with Sunderland in 7 weeks with zero indication on his future

I'd say Sunderland will wait to see what league they are playing in before they decide on out of contract players. May be better for Egan if they are relegated

Thats right as I would say that most of the senior c/halfs will be away when we go down.

Works both ways aswell though, 5 of our academy players have already been shown the door Cry

When I said zero indication he could be well be another or as you said a step-down might be beneficial for both parties

Yes cloth will have to be cut and Sunderland may think Egan is good enough for the championship but not quite good enough for the epl
